    I cannot say with 100% certainty that "you do not have to carry your passport now". I can say with 100% certainty that I have not managed to find any reference for this 'law' requiring you to carry a passport at all times.     No Charles, quite the opposite. Marriage extensions have to go up a level for sign off (one of the reasons for the one month under consideration period). I think Surin applications go to Korat (or Khon Kaen).... @gotlost will correct me. A local IO can immediately sign off a retirement...

    I am aware of a couple of people who moved from Surin to Sisaket......they could certainly impact the numbers.
