A Surprise Visit from Immigration

Immigration called about 07:30 this morning. They want to drop by around noon to take some pictures and needed directions to the house. (We aren't exactly on the road so we're a bit hard to find on Google Maps.)

We just had a renewal in Dec where they came out for a visit, so I didn't expect them to come again so quickly. (Part of the SURPRISE! I guess.)

Is this common?
What sort of violations are they looking for?
Anything I need to worry about?

Short notice for answers I know, but I didn't exactly have a lot of warning.

Did they take a myriad of photos the first time they visited ? Maybe the boss sent them back because there was not enough.
When I got visited they did the whole stupid photo shoot. They never stick around long with me when local villagers turn up up and get snarky with them.
They figure I am being harassed and come to my defense. I love them for this. A few years back immi turned up when the PEA work crew were doing maintenance on my power pole. They were surrounded by the half pissed crew demanding to know what they wanted. They got in their car and ran away.
Hmm I just happened to know them all. I wonder who had given them Lao Khaow ? ? I did not even know immi was coming that day. I guess it is my fault my power poles are on a funny angle.

In the past they came armed with the stack of photos we had handed in to them when filing. Didn't take any of their own, but did go room to room comparing what we had given them to the actual rooms.

Mostly they just sat in the living room and asked a bunch of questions to fill out several forms. Then a show-and-tell to the chicken coops, garden, and fish ponds.

This is third year renewing and first time they've come when we (I) were not renewing.

13:30 and so far they have not arrived. So much for noon.

14:30 they show. Same bunch that always shows. Very nice. Very polite. They had a bit of an issue finding us. We saw them drive past back and forth multiple times.

"Let me see your passport. Please sit here." They never even came inside. "It's very beautiful here. Are those fishponds? Smile for the camera. We have to go now. Sawade Krapp."

Five minutes and they were gone.

They mentioned having several farangs in the area they needed to visit and were gone.

I think they just wanted to make sure this is where I actually lived. Most of the day wasted.

We have only had 1 when we moved from Sangkha to Pattaya as, my home address obviously changed.
 
I was asked by two pairs of IOs about two separate farang's locations. They each had pads containing the names and addresses of dozens/hundreds of Surin farang who they were visiting, Curiously, one farang was on the list but at my address... my wife's name was given as his spouse here, and his phone number was shown. While here, they took photos of me and my passport outside the gate - even though my name wasn't included on their lists. I happened to know both of the farang concerned, and had FB, a mobile phone number and Messenger connection for one of them. I sent him messages on each, but he ignored them... maybe he didn't want to be found!
