Best weather stations?

I’d like to track the weather trends here in Isaan, even when I’m spending my hot seasons elsewhere. In the USA, I used Davis weather stations to put the data up on the internet where I could view it with Apple apps I write (as their online display isn’t that great). I’m looking for such on Lazada, but it’s unclear what the cheaper units do. Davis Pro units cost around $900 USD, but cannot be bought on Lazada.

Do any of us on here have such a weather stations, and can make a recommendation? There is a WUnderground capable unit for about ฿5,400, but it’s impossible to tell what its capabilities are, or durability. They seem to have little English documentation.

I have one bought from Lazada for around 5000thb. Have worked fine so far.
It is also out on wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IMUEAN359

Thanks, Jeppe. I’ll check it out. It appears to be the same one I mention, now about 5400 THB. I just looked at your site on WU, and it appears it is not as windy there as here. It has been really whistling here the last few days, eased off this morning. More than the 10 mph your site shows! At times, it shakes our roofs, and I’d guess it’s 20-30 mph at least. I’m interested in accumulating long term weather trends for our specific location, which seems different from Buriram.

Do you think there is a good technical users manual for it in English available somewhere? I’d like to be able to read the data and display it in a custom iPad app I can write. You can do that with a Davis Pro weather station, but some buyers have said that the above station has little-no English documentation, nor any apps.

If I remember correctly, there was an English installation manual with it. If there was such info so you can have the info to make an app, I have no idea. And I have probably thrown away the installation manual a long time ago.
I use only the display that are in the package and the wunderground web page.

Just got mine. ChatGPT says it’s probably made by Fine Offset Electronics, China. They make stations for Ambient and Misool. Manual is very careful to not identify mfg., which means they make these for many brands. Seems like good value for a moderate quality unit. ChatGPT says you probably can get parts from Ecowit, which also distributes the weather stations. I’ll let you know when I get up on WU. The manual is in English, and is quite detailed, can’t complain. Setup was pretty easy. It may be that the Davis Pro units at 6x the price are more durable. Who knows? Very calibratable, configurable. It does now occur to me that your station may display wind speed in m/s instead of mph, which could explain the variation from our locale.

I found some weather stations on Amazon that was very similar to mine. So I was also thinking that this weather station is produced for several brands.

On wunderground, you can choose between C and F under setting up in the right corner. I use C, and then I see km/h for the wind also.

But my outdoor sensors does not have the optimal location. I have houses all around me, and I put it on a pole next to my gate about 3m above the ground. So the wind speed will not be correct. But for me the wind speed is not so important. The direction is more interesting, at that the sensor show more or less correct.

Correction: this comes with a very detailed, helpful users manual.

My station is now up on WUnderground. ISANOM1 is the station ID. My unit is in a pretty representative place about 2 meters up, open to the wind. It will be interesting to see just how much wind when it cuts loose out here on the open prairie. https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=15.2&lon=103.76

There appear to be only 5 personal weather stations on WUnderground in Surin Province (see below), and ours is the only one up in the NE: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=15.2&lon=103.76

10 m/s wind is about 23 mph. That, plus your protected location explains the lower wind readings, probably

We had gusts to 25 km/hour last night. Quite windy this morning, from the NE as seems to be the trade wind direction here like in Hawai’i.
