    Let's hope the rainy season starts early/soon.

    "Rainy season is between May and October with an influence of depression. The province that receives heaviest rainfalls is Nakhon Phanom and the lightest rainfall is in Nakhon Ratchasima. However, the amount of the rainfall is quite uneven although 80% of the total rainfall occurs in August and September."

    We need some rain. In earlier years I used to water the garden very day. This year I no longer water the lawn and only water the hedge and a couple of other plants once a week or so. Similarly, the car has only been washed once in the past couple of months. I recognise that there is a water shortage and I am conserving consumption and restricting wastage..

    One reason for the build of a SWMBO pond project. The pond is about half full and if you look at the right hand poll and just under it you see a small pool of water..that is the underground water table. Thats correct at 3 meters. In the past three days we have had three 10 minute showers. No real rain now for two weeks. Some local rice is green and hers is just now coming out. The water in he pond is not for rice but to be use for other projects. I look for a dry raining season even as I'm told that the pond will be full.

    I understand that the majority of the water from Huai Saneng Reservoir is for agriculture use aka rice. Surin City gets most of it domestic water from wells. What I find unacceptable is as low as that res. is the local authorities should be out enforce removing fill and increasing the depth. The Thai government past and present could give a flying fork less about isaan and its water problems. The only thing they want is to pacify the elitist and corrupt pockets of Bangkok. ;;cry;;;;bad egg;;;;bad simle;;

    My wife tells me they are actively dredging and increasing the depth of the reservoir.

    Good on you Nomad.
    Sadly I watch the school director's housekeeper washing their stone driveway [as instructed to do].

    We took my ex MD and his wife there back in 2001. We were arguing about who would pay the bill until I told him that it was only eleven quid!

    That place ‘turned me on’ to enjoying eating fish, for the first time in my life. Hated the stuff when a kid & back in England but now I try various sea-foods (& freshwater). Back in the day they also had some nice waitresses too.

    Not by this video just posted. They are dredging is for getting what water remains to the pump house. They are not dredging for extra depth as they should for future storage.
