Huay Saneng park being built - Surin Beach

Saw this over on Surin Expats.

There is an ongoing government project at Huay Saneng I thought some members might be interested in. A project the locals are calling “Surin Beach”… For those unaware, Huay Saneng is a large reservoir about 15km south of Surin city, and the royal irrigation department offices are located there. I’ve added a map below showing the reservoirs’ location, and the red shaded areas show the far south-western corner of Huay Saneng where the development is taking place.

They built a dirt road separating the main reservoir from the project area in the middle of last year and have been clearing the area since. The project is scheduled to finish in 2030, and I’ve attached an image that shows the color coded, planned development stages for each year…

I’ve added pictures from the official planning documents released to residents. Apologies if not easy to look at, but they are photos of photos. Basically, the plan is for a cycleway and walking track around the reservoir, with a sandy beach for a safe swimming area. IF, this project gets completed, I reckon it’ll be a welcome addition to Surin, especially for those with young kids…
The politician behind the project is the same fella who owns the 361 restaurant on 214, and he retained his seat in the recent election, so hopefully it will get finished.

Got a chuckle from the computer render. A girl in a presumably Thai girl in a Bikini. That would be the day.
I have not been too Cha-am for many years. Do Thais still swim fully clothed?

I like that nice blue water, too.
Bye the way what architectural software package are they using? Architects R us 2002 ?
With AI they could of made a real life photograph. Goes to show does it not?
That Thailand is stuck in old thinking.

We went to another place, a lake o reservoir of some sort, had banana boats, jet skis, swimming, a lot of small places around to cater food m for your event and rented party areas…forget the exact name…this is a good addition
Sounds like Pattaya Noi in Sirindhorn Reservoirs, Ubon. Im going there tomorrow.

Used to live not far from Hay Senning and experienced a few drownings around there, I hope they have adequate safety equipment/personal
