Supposedly a female visitor Jan 2 up from BKK visited Robinson's in Surin for some shopping. Just the first floor mind you. On her return to BKK she was tested and found to be positive for the Covid virus. Makes me wonder what sort of disinfecting they are doing daily (after hours) in these malls and shops. :-( She listed the places she had visited on her trip when questioned on her movements. Should be interesting to see in a couple more weeks how this shit has spread.

Letting the people travel for the holidays when they knew the shit was already spreading is going to bite these government tools in the ass. f**kwits is apropos.
You actually seem disappointed at their disregard, after being so vigilant. There is only, so long, any Thai can hold interest or concentration on anything.
It was to be expected. I am confused at how well it was contained in the first place for so long. The weak link was always going to be Thailand's graft, greed and avarice.
Illegal migration of exploited workers and crowded underground casinos.

My wife picked up on the same story. Track and trace said she was in Robinson's on 2nd January. Not related, but associated with the gambler returning from a casino down in the southeast, he now has 5 family members who have tested positive for Covid-19. One of whom lives in Kap Cheong.

Mine said the same - mid-afternoon on the 2nd in Robinsons.
I keep telling her that all the while she registers every time we go into Robinsons or a restaurant or Tops then our name is on their list for tracing, yet that does not make me happy at all. I understand her wanting to know because TB while a nurse didn't do her lungs any good at all.
But so many people are paying no attention to any of it. Checks are only partially done, like this morning at Tops there was nobody. Control from both the local authorities and the retailers is fragmented , unco-ordinated and not good enough.
Therefore when the proverbial hits the fan and the authorities proudly say that Track and Trace is a success again, that they have traced everyone who was there and they are all being quarantined and so it is all ok.
No it isn't. Not only is it a lie but the responsible people will be penalised and the irresponsible go free to carry on.

Was just in TOPS a couple hours ago. They have one of the new temp check machines on a stand with an automatic gel dispenser as well. 2 kids manning the machine and trace log in. Dunno if this was just put in today or if it has been there a few days. I have seen over the weeks they have been VERY lax on this though. While Robinson's always seems to have the doors manned and doing temp checks all along, though not strict on the trace log in all the time.

P.S. My wife refused to go into Robinson's actually due to this story of today.

Going so long with no cases domestically made them lax. Now they will pay for letting their guard down. And it will be due to the greed and avarice stated, per the usual. They were lucky for a long time actually, as the illegal migration has likely been going on all along.

I am wondering if the Thai gov will be ordering the Chinese Covid vaccines they have now in the CCCP.

I was in back of 9.00am this morning - I guess that was the difference. Too early in the day to have staff and be organised.
Lax is exactly the right word - this isn't the TOPS standard that I have always known. Surin must be pretty near the bottom of their priorities , range of products, stock control, and management and training. That's life, but "eye off the ball" is also the way to get caught out.

Also heard yesterday, the lady in question who went around Robinson's, who later tested positive for Covid-19 on return to Bangkok, also went all around Sikhoraphum. Seems she went all over the place. I understand they have now closed the market in Sikhor and that they have reported a positive Covid-19 infection in the town.

I have not been to Robinson's this year but I can confirm Thai Watsadu is implementing temperature checks on the door and asking everyone to sign in. Same, same with HomePro. These are two stores I have visited this year.
