KANCHANABURI:-- [thaivisa.com] The Immigration Bureau in Kanchanaburi have
today confirmed to Thaivisa.com that foreign nationals who wish to enter Myanmar at the Pu Nam Ron land crossing now need a valid visa obtained from the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Bangkok, prior to entering.

This means that those who had previously used the border at Kanchanaburi/Pu Nam Ron in order to complete a ‘border run’ will no longer be able to do so, at least for the foreseeable future, without a valid visa for Myanmar.

GL on the subject of boarder crossing. What is the procedure for crossing at Chong Chom to visit the casino for instance. Not doing a visa run. But being on a years extension/married visa already. Do you require a reentry permit and a Cambodian Visa prior to showing up there.

Passports are required now to visit the casino. Your checked about 500 meters at an army checkpoint before the crossing. Nobody can cross over even to the casino with out a pp. I would highly suggest that you have a valid reentry permit to protect your extension, normally you do not need the Cambodia visa. BTW NO private vehicles are to use the crossing only commercial trucks only.
