What kind of visa does a foreign Buddhist monk need to come to study/work/learn in Thailand. Does he have to do 90 days inspections etc.

Is there a Monk visa, do they need a sponsor etc?

Any info is appreciated.

Go on the Thai Visa forum "Thai visas, residency and work permits" and ask directly to an entity called ubonjoe. You should get a straight answer. I can say that the person your asking for will have to do a 90 day report or live the country every 90 days. I personally do not think we have any monks on this forum.

No I was thinking of starting a commune (cult actually) and wondered if there might be a visa loop hole to get nutters into Thailand!!

Many seem to have slipped through already!
