Police came to my house ???

First week in March I had a visit from one police officer from Prasat.
Wife had a call from the village government worker a police officer was coming to come to see me.
Evidently immigration called him to check on me as I was the only US citizen living in the subdistrict .
He was a young guy (most people seem young to me now) pleasant enough with no English skills.
I joked with him, put my wrists together in front of me and said no grey bar hotel, which was translated, he chuckled.
Officer took some photos of the Mrs. and me together, the three of us together and Etc.
I'm under the impression the war in Iran was the motivation.
All this is third hand information translated .

I am told it *MAY* depend on the type of visa you have. Apparently Marraige visas come under this type of scrutiny from time to time. A frien Kon Kean had this done recently and he says he was told they were checking in on ALL Americans…seems a bit much, I mean how many Americans live in Thailand on retirement visas?

My theory is that it is as simple as some countries Law enforcement is trying to track some one down and he was Geo located to your region @lightfoot.
A verification was required to see if you were that person. The person they are looking for is obviously not dangerous sending a single young copper on his own.

That never made sense to me, all the Russians, Iraqis Kuwaitis etc all hiding out in Thailand when supposedly their passports to travel were cancelled if they were of military age…As for drafting us, I hope not…once was enough…
