I finally visited Prasat Ta Muan Thom yesterday. Approximately 56 km by road from M&D Coffee. It is diffidently worth while to visit. The area surrounding the site is still heavily guarded by the Thai Military. You must leave a photo ID at a check station. The site is surrounded by green mesh screening so as not to be seen or seethe military encampment. This is the site where fighting broke out in April 2011.

My favourite of all the Khmer sites in this area. Still a bit battered, but decidedly 'atmospheric'. I'm glad to hear it's open to visitors again.

Where is it ?

Got hold of GL who gave me general directoin towards Phenom Dongrak and went looking. As usual not very well signposted but managed to find the place. Co-ords are N 14 21.011 E 103 15.996 as per my GPS.Welcome1

Can anyone post a map of the location? Is it west of Kap Cheown and, if so, what road do you take?

I take you guys have not heard of Google Earth or GPS???

On the 214 Highway about 12 km south of Prasat go west on the 224 for about 37 km then take the2407 for about 11 km. Your there. At the junction of the 214 and 224 there are signs on the 214 directing you, just befoer the turn off from the 224 onto the 2407 there are more signs.

When you get to the big giant puffy cloud you know you are half way there.
