It appears that the Thai authorities are starting to widen 214 south of Prasat. Along the highway for a stretch of approx 2 km south of the lights, trees have been cleared and both sides bulldozed.//flag

Have to agree. Major road works on the 214 for 2.5 km south of the the 24 intersection heading towards Kap Choeng. Widening the highway from 2 lanes to 4 lanes for the duity free zone at Chong Chom for ASEN. Be aware of delays as you head to KCI.
