Roof Renovation

It is probably time to sort out my roof. We built the house on a limited budget some 14 years ago. The build standard was 'thamma da" Thai ....ie not on par with western builds.

As far as I know the roof is steel framed with the fibre tiles fixed to steel batons. When I am next on my PC I will see if I can add a picture of the early work.

Leaks, poor insulation (if any) and rodent/bird access...

I have two choices:-

1. Mend and make do.

2. Do the job properly.

I would be pleased to hear advice from anyone who has been involved in have roof work done...in particular I would be interested to learn what method @alanthebuilder adopts on his European standard builds.

Most of those fibre cement tile roofs leak. Most Somchai builders never placed a membrane seal on the gable ridge such as this stuff.

Even in Australia these roofs have given up. Most people are ripping that stuff off and replacing with steel corrugated or ridged.
