Not by other reports. Its only recently that they are require to see the original. I have always said if you go there have the original just incase.

It has not been in the past but I personally know of those that did not produce it and it was not required at that time BUT a person would have to be moron to travel out of country to obtain an visa based on marriage and not having the original in their possession just incase.

I think they used to want to see the original and keep a copy you bring as well. Always bring the original.

About 4 years back they were letting just about everyone to skate by with out it. 44 took over and its been cleaned up but they are still letting individuals drop through cracks.
