On July 11, 2023, it was reported that under the direction of Police Lieutenant General Thanawat Poolsawasd, the Surin Immigration Bureau has enforced investigations and publicized Section 38 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979) for businesses providing housing to foreigners.
This law covers hotels, resorts, guest houses, and other residences within their jurisdiction, in line with the directives of the commanding officer, to prevent and suppress violations of the Immigration Act, reported Siam Rath.
