Okay, the name of this place is in Thai so I can't really tell you the name, but it is on the road to Robinson's that comes from the side entrance to BigC. It has a lot of red, white and blue colored florescent lights along the street in front. Now, there are actually 2 places with these red, white and blue lights on the street. This place would be the second place along the way, the one closest to the Robinson's junction. Pictures provided to help. Get your wife to read the sign. :)

Big place with tons of seating. Stage in the back and they have live music, bands, and singers and dancers, all Isaan Thai music and dance. The band I saw backing up the various singers was very good. The guitarist was excellent.

The staff was friendly and efficient. Smiling faces and what seemed to me to be a great attitude from the workers there. They seemed quite happy with their work.

The food was Thai, very nice Thai. Not expensive at all. We had about 6 dishes which came to about 400 baht, not including the 4 large Heinekens we drank, which brought our bin up to 900 baht total.

Nice Thai style place, good food, cold beer (whiskies were also on offer, not sure if they serve wine, didn't ask).

My wife and I have been wanting to go here and finally got the chance last night. If you drive by the place on a Thur, Fri, Sat, you'll see it is packed out with the parking lot full and people parking along the highway as well. It is quite popular a place. By the time we left at 1030 customers were starting to fill up the place. My wife loved this place, so a good place to take your wife to eat her favorite foods and listen to her beloved Isaan songs. They put on a good 'Tawan Dang' type music show.

Check it out. Pics below so you can identify this venue. It's on the left as you are driving towards Robinson's.

Is this the place nearly opposite Shinton Village, sandwiched between Index Living Mall and the old Index Store, now Surin Furniture ? On the left coming from town and the road is the 226.

Yes Nomad. It's been there for close to two years.
I call it Sop'river though I believe its name is Isarn Subver.

A new Thai place just opened this week east of your estates on the 293 "ring-road" directly across from Rob's former 214 Restaurant which hosted several SF gatherings and is now closed.
The name is Lan Chang.

Yes, I know the new place has opened on the 293. Unlike Rob's old place, I hear the noise most nights!!!!!

All most right Coffee. Isan Saep Ver . We all know that Saep means yummy in Isan but as for the Ver part I have no idea for sure. I did type the Thai into Google translate and as you said it came up with river, but I am suspect on this as it is transliterated Laos into Thai. I don't know how to read Laos well enough to unravel it. Try it for your self you will see that Saep is a transliteration from Laos as well and does not translate. At least we know what that means. แซ่บเวอร์

Wife has just returned from shopping Ver is an intensifier that means crazy. So they you are.
"Crazily Delicious " to be exact.

I'd say the map is correct or very close, though I don't think it is directly across from Sinthorn village entrance, but a bit down from there. Close though.

Was also told that big name bands play there at 1130 until late, BUT, their license restricts them from serving food after 12. And supposedly the staff cannot work after 12. Dunno how the f**k that works. Looks like they sell huge buckets of ice and bottles of whiskey and soda water before midnight. I guess it only affects the staff and the kitchen, but if you have your booze pre-ordered and at your table by midnight the musicians can play on and you can keep drinking what you ordered earlier before 12. Weird licensing restrictions. Which they seem to get around. :) TIT
