Heads down, Typhoon Pabuk is heading straight for the Gulf of Thailand and Prachuap Kiri Khan and Southern Thailand looks like it will get a direct hit in a couple of days time.

Thai news is reporting that it was 55 years ago that the last major storm came in from this direction. Last time many people lost their lives with extensive flooding of the low lying areas, presumably caused by a tidal storm surge and heavy rain. The Thai Government is taking measures to evacuate people most at risk to safer areas.
