Visa Exempt Entries Now 30 Days At Border Crossings No More 15 Days

Just got this news by email from a visa run company. It went into effect today along with the only 2 per year rule.

This was handed out at the Ban Laem crossing today.

Good news for those who are not from a G7 country.

I wonder why the back flip all of a sudden. Was it not that the 15 day rule was to discourage further the constant boarder runners of the past. Two in a calendar year would help out adjoining neighbors in tourism. As the old rules stopped cross border tourism to some extent. Altruism is not a Thai trait.
