Kon Khmer Vietnamese Restaurant in Surin. Just back from eating there with family. Excellent!

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Surin. Lovely foods at very reasonable prices in a nice setting in-doors with air con, wonderful attentive service staff. 1st time eating here (just re-opened after the covid closures). Just absolutely delicious foods. Other side of the lake by the Elephant Surin King circle. Basically across the water from the Ford dealership. All this for four people and a couple of their speciality smoothies that were incredible for 1300 baht. My new go to place added to my favorites. Score. Nice enclosed air con place with good atmosphere and ambiance. There's an area for outdoor dining as well and a small bakery/coffee shop yet to open. Should be open soon as the rainy season stops. The owner lady I found out uses Starbeam's Acupuncture Clinic, and her farang husband eats at Starbeam restaurant a few times a week I was told tonight by the gals. I had no idea. We were told about their restaurant by other family who have been recently. I love Vietnamese foods and this was spot on. I will be back again and again. I highly recommend this place, especially if you like Vietnamese food as I do. (By the by their crab spring rolls were fantastic.)

They also gave me a free sampler pork sandwich in an awesome bread roll. Very nice.

From what I was told they had recently opened just before all the covid closings and have been closed since. Just opened back up again. I think when they also open their outdoor dining, the small coffee and bakery goods shop in the front area this is going to be a really great place to spend an evening dining, have some drinks or an evening coffee under the stars. Oooooo Stop the rain. (CCR)

Sisaket had a very nice Vietnamese restaurant, reasonably priced with great food that opened this spring. It was spotless clean and located in the center near the hospital. Sadly when I drove by yesterday it was an empty storefront.

I am envious of my friends to the west

Found a great Japanese restaurant in Ubon a few days ago. You order your meal by your phone after logging-in with a customer specific QR code (food was good too).

@ColinW

I think you would enjoy this restaurant Colin.

Definitely one of the nicer interior design restaurants for nightime dining in Surin.

Thankfully family-friendly, good service and tasty Vietnamese fare. Of course almost empty on a Sunday night. Supposedly they do a brisk lunch business.

Sounds strange.............Vietnamese restaurant owned and run by Thai wife and farang husband. Any tasty Vietnamese waitressses?

The "sets" look interesting, especially for those unfamiliar with Vietnamese food, but an English translation would be helpful

Nick, have you visited VN in your earlier SE Asia travels ?
Some absolutely stunning 'waitresses' * there.

The food was enjoyed but I do not believe any Viets are employed within this venue.

*(Many moved Stateside-US before and during the Fall of Saigon.)
