Covid cases - Thailand & Surin

Yup. Finally a case of covid brought into Surin. We'll see if that multiplies over the next couple of weeks. Something said about them being in south Thailand, then traveling on a bus up this way.

I heard a similar story but only from my wife (who I assume heard it on the news).

Turned out to be gonarrhea...be careful out there. ;-)

It was on the evening of 23 December 1888 that Van Gogh returned to his room after arguing with Gauguin, where he was assaulted by voices and severed off his left ear with a razor.

As I understand it - lady worked in Samut Sakorn - collected by brother on December 22nd and returned home to local village here.
Self-isolated voluntarily at home then after a couple of days got fever, went to Surin hospital, tested positive and kept in the hospital.
So she did the correct things.

Just been to Thai Watsadu - made to sign in - but wasn't temperature checked even though hand held unit sitting on the desk, used the same pen as everyone else, and nobody else used the alcohol to clean hands afterwards.

Using the same pen is such an obvious failure of the system. Make sure you use the alcohol afterwards even if others do not.

Why are you not using the smart phone App. Even @nomad97 uses that and he is a Tyrannosaurus Rex. ::smile::

The full detailed technical answer to that would be that I don't have a Thai Smartphone - just a simple one bought at Panthip Plaza in Bangkok some years B.C. (before covid).
Never needed it, with the UK one used on wi-fi.
But I think I hear what you say, unless it's van Gogh's voices again.:)
What's this 'ere?

I never have signed in, never been asked to and just walk past the table without being stopped. Just recently nobody on the entrance to makro or Big C Buriram to even take temp.

It was confirmed earlier that the wife of the Surin man who tested positive for Covid-19, has also tested positive for Covid-19. Their two children, at different schools in Surin City, have not tested positive yet. They are due to be tested again on 4th January. In light of these two confirmed cases, AnubarnSurin Junior School has just stated they will remain closed next week. Earlier today, Sirindhorn Secondary School announced they would remain closed for two weeks, their students are to receive online learning. My two daughters attend these schools and the information has been received through the active PTA net. I am unable to comment on the other schools in Surin City and whether or not they will be closed too.

A total of 22,690 hospital beds have been prepared to serve Covid-19 patients nationwide, the Department of Medical Services said on Friday. Thailand recorded 279 new cases on Friday.

Bangkok and its vicinity has 2,778 beds reserved for coronavirus patients from Samut Sakhon and other “red” provinces with more than 50 cases, informed Dr Natthapong Wongwiwat, the deputy director general of the ministry.

Of the 2,778 beds, 277 are currently occupied. Natthapong said that most cases from the new Covid-19 outbreak were asymptomatic or had mild symptoms.

Another 320 Covid patients are being treated in the outbreak’s epicentre of Samut Sakhon and nearby areas, where 1,647 hospital beds have been reserved.

Meanwhile 2,648 beds have been prepared from Samut Prakan to Trat, 248 of which are now occupied.

There are currently 11 Covid-19 patients critically ill in ICUs, eight in Bangkok and its vicinity.

Among these ICU patients, two were in need of close care from specialist doctors, said Natthapong. Three patients were recovering and would be moved out of ICU soon.

That photo says it all. You get a cot, though not quite socially distanced.

How many ICU respiratory intubation beds are available province by province.
Surely Surin has at least thirty...possibly ramped up to 50, eh.
Some vaccine should trickle in by Songkraan.

Face it. If this virus hit Thailand hard there would be widespread carnage.

(But yeah it's all fake to bring down a patriot, at least on this forum. %-)

If the Covid-19 virus didn't get me, I am quite sure a 2-week stay on those beds would. Like being stretched out on the rack, ready to be drawn and quartered. :D :D :D
