Does interest income alone make us file a tax return?

I have a 10 year ‘wealthy pensioner’ visa, which exempts me from any taxation on foreign income brought in. However, in order to take advantage of the temporary favorable exchange rate vs. USD, I’ve moved maybe a two year supply of USD into K-Bank as THB. Having a substantial balance, I’m getting some non-negligible interest income. I notice that they automatically withhold 10% in lieu of taxes. I’d really, really rather not have to file annual Thai tax returns, and don’t care about getting any of that 10% back. At what threshold would I be required to file? Secondly, is there any easy way open to farang to put part of that into the equivalent of a money market account that earns a more realistic interest rate?
