FARANG LIVES MATTER

I am led to believe that some of the Muslim women hiding beneath their burquas, are to put it bluntly "a bit of alright" You, Wanderer, only saw the eyes of your cleaning ladies. Did you not wonder, with all the time on your hands, what may lie beneath the plastic?, I am sure I would have done.:yum::yum:
It may have crossed my mind.
The younger one has nice smiling eyes.
But working in food factories has taught me that "never pass judgment until you see the whites of their eyes" can be far from enough.

@Wanderer, I take Indomethacin for my Reactive Arthritis. A few years ago, while staying in the General Hospital for a hernia operation, I told the doc I needed indomethacin daily and he prescribed Arcoxia instead. Now apart from the price, Arcoxia, a Cox 2 inhibitor drug, is supposed to be kinder on the stomach than the non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). I did not find the highest dose available to be in quite the same league as Indomethacin. I was still left in pain in the hospital and augmented the prescribed medication with a few Indomethacin capsules of my own (naughty boy!). The main difference, from what I can see, other than the method of operation is the price. You are being charged 92 baht a tablet for Arcoxia whereas Indomethacin costs some 220 baht/1,000 capsules, or, slightly less than 25 Satang per 25 mg capsule. I need 6 capsules a day, or roughly 1.50 baht/day. I have tried Cox 2 inhibitors before, under medical supervision, but both the very significant price difference and the effectiveness of the pain medication have led me back to Indomethacin every time.

Thanks for that, appr4ciated.
I only let them sell me a second hit just to keep on the right side of the medics - for now.

Sadly no beer goggles to help.

Update.
OK - I'm free to go - sort of.
Lunchtime I found an envelope outside the door containing a negative report from yesterday's second Covid test.
I try to find out what happens now, no luck. I get wife to call them to ask am I allowed out of the room for a walk around.

Call back from someone at the hotel speaking good English (who dat?) I can go up to the roof. I say ok now then please.
A man comes, gives me a badge to wear, and I'm escorted up to the roof garden - fresh air and a walk around. Fantastic!!
An American from Tennessee there with his Thai wife.
We have a good chat about life, the universe and everything. He isn't a Trump fan.

To my surprise they have only had one covid test but his wife got permission for them to go out of their room.
Jings - how I would like to have known that. My 3-page handout sheet says clearly that you can't do that.

So now I kick around here until Saturday for no good reason that I can think of except we are told "Government policy" says so.
And I won't be given my Covid Certificate until I have settled any extra hotel charges when I leave.

But parole should now happen on Saturday.
Probably before the American Election result.
I hadn't bargained for this ongoing torture as well.
What on earth is all this stuff on CNN?
CNA Singapore in small doses is easier to handle.
Heigh-ho

That first beer is going to taste great!

(So will the next six. Enjoy your reward for being a well behaved lad.;;grimace;;)

Back home in Surin.
Quarantine was in the Vertical Suite Hotel in Bangkok. The "apartment" rather than a small room was a Godsend that outweighed other deficiencies.
I can't believe how much I appreciated having lunch on the way home in an outside restaurant, sharing things off a proper menu and eating off proper plates.

The Buriram Quarantine hotel is no more. Was only temporary one for "VIP's and members of the football club", i.e. new players arriving for the new season.
Aliens have no option but Bangkok and pay for it. I think more flexibility for the "chosen" fraternity from China.
I tried to ask various questions from hotel staff, nurses, and room cleaners but no luck.

Back to normality now - backlog of maintenance jobs to do.
Many thanks for support and comments during the incarceration - much appreciated.

I remember one muslim woman when I was in Penang. She had on a long dress over which looked like a lovely figure with a split to well over her knee. Above the Burqua her eyes were beautiful.
She was walking about 4 metres behind her husband.
To this day I still wonder what it was like between the top of the split and those gorgeous eyes. There was just something about her that I will never forget.
My friend who was with me said the same thing.
Sorry Wanderer. Nick's comment sidetracked me.

That's not a sidetrack, that's the real world.
Same for me, particularly the eyes.
We visit different countries and we remember some of the women there so vividly, and we wonder how the hell they put up with most of the men.
Welcome to Thailand.

I will always remember Greenland. All those ladies on the inspection lines. Young attractive dark haired girls with dark eyes. And also the wrinkled older women, like you see in the photographs.
I used to wonder how it could be that they changed from the young attractive to the old wrinkled so quickly, because there wasn't a mid-way point.
(I then assumed that the middle aged ones might have been at home.)
But once I did have a Scottish born helicopter pilot there who said it was nearly time to trade in his wife for a new model.

I think I might have mentioned somewhere before that, through time, the Inuit learned something that the Royal Families of Europe never did.
To keep the gene pool strong, don't inbreed.
Therefore a woman having 5 children could well involve 5 fathers. That was all ok until the Danes turned up bringing new diseases.
On my first visit our Danish supplier told me that if I went with a local woman I must then go directly to the hospital.

Was the hospital overwhelmed with your regular visits?:D:D

A waitress in the restaurant of a hotel in Delhi. Trainee (it said on her tit). Unbelievably beautiful. When she moved it appeared that she was on roller skates and had just been given a shove from the kitchen (the sari obscured her feet).

I stayed at the Asia Hotel Pattaya when I first came to Thailand in 1983. The waitresses in the restaurant there all had roller skates on as I recall.

There's a restaurant in Bangkok, "The Royal Dragon" which was so large that the waitresses needed their roller skates. Supposedly the largest restaurant in the world (5,000 covers) or it was in the 90s. Maybe it's still there. Up in Bangna if I remember correctly.

Yes - It was in Bang Na, and was in the 1992 Guinness Book of Records as the largest restaurant in the world

I remember many, if not all of the tables were on stilts over a big pond. Mozzies were a hell of a nuisance.

The food can't have been exceptional because I don't remember it.
