We used to call Barra caught in tidal esturies " black back " for the thin line of colour under the dorsal fin and the salt
water Barra were called " silver bullets ". Caught a few in my time.

I reckon the Salt water Barramundi is one of the best eating fish there is. Especially freshly caught. Red Emperor would be probably the best fish I have eaten. My old mates in Cairns might argue for Mangrove Jack, Fingermark or Grunter. Each to their own.

Barra, reds and blue bone(tusk fish) are on top of the prime chewing list.

Enter a recent dinner at the Aussie Bar on soi cola. I ordered their fish and chips more in hope than confidence, but was delighted to be served with decent sized fillets in a crispy coating. The fish was barramundi, familiar to Aussie readers, also known here as sea-bass. It is a round fish and has a great taste with excellent texture, meaty and firm fleshed.

It was served with plenty of chips, and a salad too.

Has any one been recently or any other places serving decent fish and chips starting yo miss my homes food. Only been here 2 months ha ha

Tried to find that on wednesday. But my god took me to some random street and definitely not a swan inn in sight. Had Thai family with me and you all know when that's are hungry I didn't have time to look around ha ha
