HakuZou Japanese Restaurant - Surin

I am not familiar with Japanese food, and on the odd occasions I have been to a Japanese restaurant, I have not known what to order.

Some Indian restaurants have a set meal for beginners, comprising a suitable sample of the man dishes . Do the local Japanese restaurants do the same?

I do like to sample foreign offerings, but need to know where to begin :)

Question @Prachonchai Nick , do you enjoy eating raw shellfish and fish ? If not, well you can erase the sushi and sushimi.

Start with chicken or pork katsu....basically lightly-breaded cutlets. They have katso combination meals.
Their Tempura dishes are also fine for the "uninitiated" diner.

Oh, and their pickled ginger slices are just fantastic, which can be seen on the pic I posted above sitting on the bit of lettuce. Succulent. Love that stuff. Also have a fondness for their hot Sake too. A couple of the large ones shared with your wife will light your fire. LOL

We might go today .
I'm more for food that's cooked not raw .
What times are they open any pointers what To Eat..cooked

Try their beef teriyaki. Not sure what time they open in the morning, but they don't close until 9 or 10 I think. Usually if they have customers they stay open until you are finished and ready to go. Their salads are nice and I love their dressings. Much of their stuff is cooked. Just go in and check out their HUGE menu. You'll find some nice stuff you'll love.

Too complicated for my simple tastes. Give me a simple beef/pork/chicken steak any day. I expect the female members of my family would enjoy.

The only times that I've had Japanese fare was in Kuala Lumpur in the 90s. I occasionally used to take the chief accountant's secretary out for lunch in KL and she liked it so I suffered. However, she was far, far prettier than @Coffee which made the suffering endurable.

Had not followed this thread until I happened upon it this morning. Not overkeen on raw fish, and the wife would flatly refuse to eat it, Years ago in Pattaya had a German friend who would bring me smoked salmon. The wife insisted on microwaving it!

That's horrible.

I had a holiday in Japan 2 years ago and expected not to like the food. I was pleasantly surprised that there is a lot more to it, than raw fish luckily!!!!!!
Love to go back there one day!!!

Used to be a Japanese Steak House many years ago in Bangkok on Suk. Great steaks. The Continental? Can't remember the name off hand. Was a long time ago a friend turned me onto the place.

You are not alone there Nick. Lek almost always microwaves smoked Mackerel, only rarely eating it cold.

The bullet train left me with fond memories. Can't say the food did though!
Been to South Korea twice...first and last time. The food was crap.
