Home built in Nakhon Nowhere

Amidst rice paddies it must be nice to boast of a + THB 12 Million home-build (2 rai inclusive) albeit no pool or tennis court.
That didn't include the appliances or furniture -ouch.
The owner states that he doesn't see many farangs in his neighborhood. After a visit I can understand why. To each their own...

Though something about Nakhon Nowhere truly touches the heart...a new born calf being licked by Mom...

Very nice Coffee, if you compress your photos before uploading they will load in a flash. You lose little of the picture quality. The photos will also use less space on the server. Win, win!

I hope your not referring to the in-laws, GL.LMAO1
{Actually the cattle are a couple of rais further down the road with a different family.}

I think it's the date superimposed on the front of the image that's the problem.

Imagine the prestige of being able to tell people that you have found Utopia at Nakhon Nowhere!

Do the upstairs rooms offer a view of the ocean?

Coffee, is this "Nakhon Nowhere" just before Sangkha but after Lamduan. I seem to recognise the place and the story behind it?

Clearly for you...

...to recall.

Come on Ivor, what's the gossip of this place. Was it a farang mistake?

I think Coffee has (sort of) confirmed that I am mistaken. I thought it looked like a house build by a German guy that I used to drive by when visiting a friend.

Several abandoned, not-quite-completed monuments in my neck of the jungle, too. Included is a huge, half-built, architect-designed place right next door which rather spoils the classy neighbourhood. The first 2 million baht was utilized roughly as follows: 1 million to start house, 1 million donated to casino.

There is a castle on the right hand side of the road heading from Sangkha to Surin.
It looks palatial and is about 1km off the road in the middle of central bum f**k.
WTF would anyone in their right mind build a flash as house in a fookin rice paddy.
No accounting for taste, I suppose.
We have an American lad with a house in our estate who has made a concerted effort to create one of the most patchwork dwellings I have seen.
All the extensions he has done look no more than boxes nailed onto boxes.
His perimeter fence is adorned with after market stainless steel frames and spikes which are about as straight as a dods hind leg and, he is about as sociable an a case of ebola.

The house to which Coffee refers is only about 10 kilometers outside the ring road. Head towards See Corp and turn right at the flashing amber light 10 clicks down the 226. That used to be the direction but they have now extended the central reservation past that particular cross roads and taken down the flashing amber light too. Now you have to go to the next U-turn, come back towards Surin and turn left. Yes, I know the place because I have had the pleasure of driving SWMBO to the Salak Dai Administrative Buildings which are a couple of kilometers past this house and up a road to the left. It is a little stuck out in the middle of nowhere and elevated above the surrounding terrain.
