Hello, I would like to book an appointment for document legalization at the Central Pattaya office on 8 December 2026.

Currently, the online booking calendar only allows me to view dates up to November which is completely full booked, and December is not yet accessible.

Could you please tell me when the appointment calendar for December 2026 will be opened? Is there a specific date or time when new appointments are released?

Thank you very much for your help.

I suggest that a phone call to them may be advisable.

I presume you are getting married and not applying for a Thai passport. In the latter case congratulations.
If the appointments are all booked up. You must do a walk in and start the long day when they open. It is simple as that.
Thais would never stop walk ins as not all Thais are internet savvy or can even read.
Good luck and kiss your day good bye.

The dates for December have not yet been released.

What makes you think that I am going to get married? Is that the only reason for a foreigner to have documents legalized? :)

Well that's 9 out of 10. I took a bet on those odds. The other 10% is property, business, employment and .001% if you are applying for Thai Citizenship.

Is marriage so abhorrent to you?

I will actually try to help.
I've used this service after all the BS and pain of getting documents, legalized, and translated.
Emailed and sent documents EMS do this business with success,

I have been to the MFA at Central World in Bangkok several times—once for my son’s birth certificate, and then to have the mother’s documents legalized so I could take them with me to Luxembourg.

Now I just need to get my certificate of legal capacity to marry legalized.

So you're right :)

If everything goes according to plan, the civil wedding ceremony will take place in Rayong City in December.

Originally, we planned to have our civil wedding in Prasat, as this would have been the easiest and most time-efficient option for us.

However, when my fiancée went to the local authorities in Prasat to ask a few questions about the wedding arrangements, she was not particularly well received. She was told that we would need to attend several interviews and provide photos of us together, among other requirements.

Of course, none of these requirements would have been a problem for us. We have known each other for three years and have countless photos together. On top of that, our son was born in May this year, so we are clearly a genuine family. My fiancée simply found it difficult to understand why getting married had to involve so many additional hurdles.

The explanation she received was that the authorities had encountered many cases of sham marriages in the past, which is why they apply these additional checks. We understand the need to prevent fraudulent marriages, but the way the situation was handled left my fiancée feeling uncomfortable and rather frustrated.

As a result, we have now decided to combine our planned civil wedding with a holiday and get married in Rayong City instead.

We hope this will make the whole process a more pleasant experience and allow us to focus on what should be a happy occasion for both of us.

After you get all the legal papers required next is registering the marriage.

Prasat was more than a pain in the ass, unsuccessful Prasat.
SURIN city, no problem.

After 20 years together we decided to get married. My UK daughter also decided that they would also like to get married in Thailand.

The initial plan was to have a double marriage ceremony at Bang Rak. Unfortunately, it was not as easy dealing with Bang Rak as people had previously made out. My daughter booked an online appointment for January thinking that the marriage would take place then. I had my doubts so we visited Bang Rak amphur, after obtaining the Freedom to Marry from the British embassy. Oh no, the appointment for my daughter was only to check documents and a marriage appointment can only be booked after that - with a 4-6 week waiting list.

I hated Bang Rak, it was a shithole of a marriage factory. Having established that we could be married at ANY amphur in Thailand, we tried the local amphur at Chaloern Prakiat. They were excellent and the lady staff, plus Nai Amphur could not have been more helpful.

For various reasons we decided against the double marriage and we went through the process in December (as a dry run for my daughter who married in January).

One thing to watch if you are changing amphurs is to make sure your Freedom to Marry certificate, from your embassy, matches the province and month in which you marry.

I had to change mine, at the British embassy, when I changed amphur location from Bangkok to Buriram. I forgot to change the month from January to December but, fortunately, the local amphur overlooked that.

Bang Rak was a shithole 25 years ago when I married there. I had no idea at the time you could marry at any Amphur. Where we lived in Bangkok was behind the Amphur office in Ratchatevi. Could of married there. It was only latter I twigged that Thais think it is auspicious, a place being called the village of love. Believing it brings good fortune to their relationship. My memory of the event was there was a row of desks. To my left there was a Thai couple getting a divorce and to my right there was a Thai farang couple getting a divorce. So much for good fortune. :)
