REMINDER: British Embassy has now stopped issuing income letters

If you are thinking of using Kasikorn online statement prints (and we have no idea if/what if anything might be required) remember you can only go back 6 months.

I appreciate that. Hopefully I will not be needing such documentation for this years extension application.

If it does come to pass, let's see how they analyse those ..... "Dummy Branch MCL07416" and "International Trade and factoring Centre" receipts average 450,000 Baht per month.

I don't believe that they will accept "home" print outs unless they are stamped and signed by a senior bank employee. And in my wildest dreams I cannot imagine a senior bank employee checking a year's statement print out in order to verify that it's correct. I am unable to find people in authority who will sign to confirm that a copy of my passport is an actual copy of my passport.

Is that a statement printed by the bank? Or a print out of your online statement?
That was my online statement, also limited to 6 months with Bangkok Bank. The annual print out provided by Bangkok Bank, cost 200 baht, looks the same.

I have just printed off 1 July to 31 December in anticipation of a visit to immigration on 10th May.

Potential drugs baron - investigate throughly.

Yes, but the bank manager (or other senior official) would be prepared to stamp and sign the one printed out by the bank - would they be prepared to stamp and sign your printout?

A Thai bank manager couldn't verify a postage stamp. No point in speculating in that direction.

Anyway Yorky, if you have money in the bank why are you even wasting brain power on this.

Because I may not have in 2020.

Or....

I may be dead then (but I hope not to be).

Just had a phone call. An expat (Australian I think) has neither the Bht 400,000.00 nor the monthly income to satisfy the immigration requirements. Apparently he is still able to obtain the extension for a one off payment of Bht 12,500.00 (in Pattaya).

Also, in the same phone call, the Brit confirmed that when transferring money from Lloyds (maximum Sterling 5,000 per transaction) he gets precisely the exchange rate that they told him he would get (Standard Chartered being the intermediary bank). However, they sent the last transfer to the wrong bank.

12,500 Baht is a good price, standard figure seems to be 14,000 baht.

Just had visit from a friend. He is British and is on an O-Multi. He is aware of the the no affidavit income letter. He just visited SI this morning for confirmation. He has funds in Bangkok Bank and next month will convert over to an extension based on marriage next month. He talked with the Captain in the office and was told no other changes as of now.

Thanks Nomad.

That is starting to shape things up.

There was an official announcement from the BKK Embassy stating the new fee’s for their (couple of) services.
Sorry, couldn’t C&P.

His last sentence of his statements says it all. Until immigration comes out with an official policy it is all a crap shoot.

I give credit where it is due.

This guy Tod Daniels usually has his finger on the pulse and what he has shown now is one big step forward........................... it increases significantly the chances of the revised orders coming into effect.

Both JC and now Tod Daniels are giving out good information. I know GL says its all a crap shoot until such time as the official policy is announced and that makes sense. However, its very good to see that things are beginning to move in the right direction. It certainly looks like Thai Immigration intend to facilitate verification of income through Thai bank statements. It's only the first week of January 2019 and I am not due to extend my permission to stay based on retirement until 30 December 2019. There may be many twists and turns before the end of the year but at least I feel more optimistic about renewing my permission to stay than I did a couple of months ago.
