Thai tax identification number

FERRET

WELL WORN MEMBER
I received an e-mail from my Australian bank, instructing me to update my taxation records.
As my place of residence is now Thailand, they were particularaly focusing on my T.I.N number here.
The A.T.O, Australian taxation office, I was told, is focusing on all ex-pats residing overseas.
This had me panicking as, up until yesterday, I didn't have one and, failure to supply one could result in the bank blocking
access to my Australian accounts.
Luckily, I phoned an English friend and he put me in contact with his Thai accountant to assist me.
We met up yesterday morning, and we went through the process of me obtaining a Thai T.I.N, It's simple really, as long as you know the process.
All I had to do was photocopy a few documents and supply my original passport and, she did an assessment of my tax liability.
After she finished, I was quoted a taxation amount that plesantly surprised me, her fee was ฿2000 + the assessed amount.
6 hours later, she delivered my passport and my T.I.N documentation and tax id number--simple when you know how.

so now you pay taxes in Thailand? Do you pay in Australia also?

Got my TIN No. together with my Yellow Book - it's the number on the Pink ID card.
In the process of seeking tax-exstemption in Denmark - so far partly free, guess all papers are done in a few more weeks, then no tax payment in Denmark.
Thai tax is very low, lot of deductions before calculation - remember to report exspences for Medical Insurance, it's also deductable

DaryDane : is it that number in small print on the back of our pink ID-card ?

No mate, as I am over 60 and a self funded retiree, I am not liable to pay Australian tax.
My Thai tax assessment is extreemely generous.
Lucky I think, in the USA if you have a US passport (citizen) then you are required to file Taxes until you die on taxable income where ever its earned. Thus in Thailand I do nothing, because I have paid USA taxes.

Earning intrest in Thailand is considered income for the Belgian taxman ... and Thailand gives the info about my Thai accounts to the Belgian government so I have to declare them.

No, should I have to as, the ancilliary paperwork was the same as my 90 report.
Well yes but does not matter until the "Thai computer" Says "No!" because you have two ID numbers now. OOPS.
Knowing Thailand it may never happen. Along with the great financial tracking program.

Australia has one. But it is not even used by the ATO. Just the National Crime Authority. To track money laundering.
The most powerful agency in Australia has access to everything. More power then the ATO and more then NCA.

Who is that you ask?

The child support agency. They will bleed you dry. But you knew that @FERRET didn't you?
They can cancel your passport and drain your bank account. They are responsible for the death of hundreds of men if not thousands.

Yes, I was an unwilling victim of a very vindictive bitch and the child support system although I was paying support to
the tunnel c*nted medusa, she wanted more==== BOO-HOO bitch. 25 years later she is stoney broke and whining about it, I truely hope
that she enjoys being almost destitute, living in the $1.6 million house she stole from me ( Insert evil laugh here ).
