WISE transfer delays

my transfers of 5.000 euro arrive within seconds from my Wise account to my Kasikorn account

After months of delayed transfers using WISE for UK/Thailand, I used Wise on Thursday to transfer my pittance State Pension and was pleased that it arrived here a few minutes after the instruction was sent - the first time it has happened that way in many months.

My transfers with Wise from the UK to Thailand usually arrive in seconds.
Last week I sent one, and they said it would take 17 minutes to arrive,
It arrived exactly 17 minutes later.:)

My transfers into Thailand have always been to the Bangkok Bank. They arrived seconds after being sent by WISE until last year when they started taking several days. WISE always blamed the receiving bank for delays, but were able to forecast the arrival time here to the minute as soon as the transfer instructions were sent. How the hell could WISE know that several days in advance?

It will be interesting to see if last Thursday's swift transfer is replicated next month.

I would say safe.............................but not as safe as the way that UK bank deposits are guaranteed (by the government) up to £120,000.

I am reluctant to continue to maintain balances with WISE as I had 40,000 Baht taken from my WISE account yesterday.
I hope it was promptly returned! We just finished a 6 week tour in Italy and France, and our Wise debit card/euros was very useful, accepted everywhere. Can even use it on trams/buses/trains in many cities

2 days. After their investigation and requiring me to deep clean my PC and install Malwarebytes.

I had a suspected phone call today from someone purporting to be from the Wise fraud department. When he started asking about other banks I used, I put the phone down on him. I tried to contact Wise myself, to verify the call but that proved impossible.
It would be easier to get an audience with the Pope.:rage:
App working normally and no transactions have been made on my account.
I have now frozen my card as a precaution. If the call had been genuine, then I’m guessing they would have emailed me to confirm an issue after me hanging up on the caller?

I have had 2 scam alerts this week, one from OFX and one from my bank in Australia--the bastards are everywhere.

Or just run a good security program on your PC for much, much less.
I had to use Windows while running my businesses. I just got too weary of the security programs required, and when I retired, at my (late) wife’s request went 100% Apple. Never regretted doing so, worth it. iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pros work together so well! As they say, ‘You pays your money and you take your chances’. You are right, your solution does cost much, much less. Apple’s just more fun.

Had a strange one a couple of days ago. Money left my Aussie account and Wise did not receive it till exactly 2 hours latter. Which the processed in 1 minute.
Weird. So where did my money go for a whole two hours?

Do you remember how long that transfer would have taken 20 years ago?

I had a US bank connected to a Thai bank account, would call this 800 number, punch in a code, punch in the amount I wanted and they would do a bank transfer, next day type thing. It was a real hassle.

Yes 3 to 5 days and the expense as well. I also remember how long it took to clear a cheque in those days
I spent a fortune sending money and making overseas calls which can now be done for nothing (well next to nothing).
If using Line or whatever.

Note @CO-CO I was not complaining. I was wondering who had the use of the money for that 2 hours.
It was not stuck as photons in a optical fibre.
