That's one hell of a cowshed GL. What are the dimentions & how many cattle do you propose to house?
My Brother in law and I are also currently building a cowshed, but only a fraction of the size of yours.
Nice one!! Who will be responsible for the feeding and welfare of the cattle when they arrive & do you have plenty of grazing nearby? We have only 20 cattle at the moment and that is about max that our land can sustain grazing wise. Brother in law grows Napier grass that is fed through a chaff cutter to supplement the grazing.Proximally 100 feet X 50 feet. If you look closely you can see 10 more holes dug in front, these are for a roof extension. There are 50 cows being given by the government FREE. As I said in another post my boss has rented about 2 rai of HER land to the village for this project. A new 6 inch well has gone in along with electricity at no cost to us. SWMBO has 4 of the new cows in the bank. There is about 200 foot of new fencing going in some of it on our side. What kind of beef they are getting I have no idea, I can only dream. They have brought a cattle shoot in and the heard is being driving up from LONESOME DOVE.
Not so fast cowboy! I have studied GL's photos with interest and there is one observation I have to make. The foundations for the roof support struts seem to be non-existent. I didn't see any bags of cement, nor sand, let alone a mixing bucket. What I can see appears to be the excavated earth returned to the hole and then compacted down with a shovel or hoe.You need a website now: GLthebarnbuilder.com.
