If I remember correctly, @robjak went to Pattaya and although he noticed a significant reduction in his electricity bill, his total financial outlay was substantially higher overall.

But you rarely used the shops air con. With the kids off school, they tended to have the aircon on all day, whilst the Mrs would have the downstairs aircon on whilst she watched TV.

All about to change.

Most folks in the villages still live without air con. For one thing, I doubt that they could afford the cost of purchase, installation and maintenance. Secondly, they could never afford to run them at 5,000 or 6,000 plus baht every month.
