Marriage extension under consideration time frame.

The problem for Thai Immigration was that it was not a letter verifying your income. It was confirmation that you had sworn your financial circumstances were correct. I've not seen a letter from the US embassy so do not know whether the word "verification" is included therein.
Yorky, I'm sure I've got one of those letters somewhere, but your point is correct...it was an "Affidavit" rather than a "Verification", so they were merely agreeing with what you were claiming, not verifying that it was correct.

If I remember correctly the British embassy had a lovely phrase - "He has stated that his income is XXX and we have no reason to disbelieve him".

And we were paying Bht 2,500.00 for that shit!

[Edit: although it was Bht 70.00 to the pound when I obtained my last (and only) one]

I honestly don't remember, but I think it was $50 USD for the verification letter from the US Embassy...no Thai baht accepted there! I also don't remember the exchange rate then (2002 or so ?) but maybe 40Bt/1$ ?

Not quite.

The last 'Income Letter' I received in November 2018, the British Embassy only confirmed that I was a the holder of passport number XXXXXXX and that I was recognised as a British Citizen. The letter went on to say that I had stated that I lived at the address as shown and, finally, that I had stated that I received the total yearly income of GBP XX,XXX.XX per annum. The Embassy verified nothing that I said! :D:D:D

P.S. If I had a scanner I would willingly copy and post said letter. However, since installing the wireless printer server to allow all of my PC's to print wirelessly, I have lost the ability to scan documents. @Rice will confirm this statement.

Mine was dated 2002 so they have obviously changed their tactics.

Mine was around 2006 and I had to produce documentary evidence to ‘prove’ my income at the ‘now gone’ Jomtiem UK consulate.

Does your embassy actually verify claims of finance. Or do they just certify that is what you stated under NZ law. Just like other embassies used to do. That is not good enough anymore.
I always did think it was a bogus contention in law. Mind you swearing to tell the truth over a stack of paper has less validity in my opinion. But there you go. A lot of faith is put into these notions.
The New Zealand Embassy certifies my income from my two pensions. I give them written evidence. I send to the embassy with a copy of my passport and they return the letter of confirmation by EMS after I have deposited 1340 Baht in the embassy bank account.

I’m envious, good service (if I needed it).

I’m hoping to keep my present job (& WP/B visa extensions) for another 5 years until a government pension (may) start.
Not in a position or want a visa based on marriage. Got the T-shirt!! 555

I shan't believe that Thailand will be provide you with a liveable pension.

I meant a UK one, to top-up Private one that I am presently getting. Think you need to work here for minimum of 15 years to get ‘a bit of beer money’from this Circus. (After another 5 years, I might just slip in, not sure. )
