With the new ‘buy Golden US permanent resident status’ for $1M+ program, maybe the USA will become a retirement hub for Russian and other oligarchs. Kind of like Brazil post-WWII? Imagine Vladimir Putin retiring to the USA with all his savings, lunching with the other billionaires at Mar-a-Lago, and sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom. Strange times. My grandfather emigrated from Poland in the late 1800s, the old fashioned way via Ellis Island.

Next one is your guarantor. Yes they want you to state who your guarantor is and present a copy of their ID card and House registration.

Is this information transmitted across the either and you wake up with it? WHAT and WHY am I first to report on this?

I had a hell of a day today. I am permitted to take my Guarantor details in tomorrow.

PS The staff were pleasant as they could be. The horrid abuses of the past are no where to be seen. But that only ever happened in the other place.

I don’t hear my phone much of the day when operating noisy machinery. Texting is more reliable. I just came down with a nasty cold/flu, so it would be good to wait till after January 20th or so

That fits with what I hear re: marriage visa. Moving the goal posts seems common. We arrived to get LTR visa in Bangkok, only to be told that my retirement visa had to be moved from last year’s passport to renewed one first, and that that could only be done in Surin. No point in arguing that was pointless as they would immediately replace it so why not just let it expire? So I had to do that, and make another trip to Bangkok. What is a guarantor guaranteeing??

They are guaranteeing you are a genuine person that lives in the area and knows that you are in a genuine relationship.
You see some time ago there was numerous scams involving Thai women without there knowledge. Single women were married off to strangers on paper.
It was not until some of these women actually got married that alarm bells rang that they were already married. It was quite a scandal. Even before that there was agents that made up fictitious relationships and those women did not even exist. So you see that they are justified in what they do now. It is just that I would like to know when they change goal posts.

Some old time members may remember many years ago I tested the policy of showing Kor Ror 3 (flowery certificate) Being compulsory. Remember how wrong I was and it was in the policy. You know the paper no one is allowed to see and I got a special reading. Then got banned from IMMI 1. This all come about because I had left the original Kor Ror 3 in Australia but I had copies. I did not believe them it was absolutely necessary. It is truly amazing I got that far with my complaint.

WELL !!! They don't do it anymore. They did not want to see my original Kor Ror 3. WTF !
They just used the current Kor Ror 2 done on the day. This was my point all those years ago.

The last time i got divorced, both original copies of the Kor Ror3 had to be produced. Luckily there was a police station next to the Aumpur (Pattaya) and a police report for its lost, was accepted.

I was told at the time because it was used in their speech to me that you would need a court order if one of the Kor Ror 3 was lost. It is all policy and it is dynamically changed on the fly. Thai laws are unique in that they are so vague in the details. All details are in policy. I am not surprised it was different for you.
