TM30 a shot in the foot. Even for hospital.

Went to KC today to discuss the TM30
There were a couple of Officers on duty and they were very helpful and friendly in setting Wood up on his phone to do internet reporting.
In two weeks we have to go to Bangkok for a couple of days, we will see how much Wood understood when we come back.

We came across two police checkpoints, one in the centre of Prasat and one between Prasat and Kap Choeng, both times they looked at my driving licence and waved us on.

Picking up friends of ours tomorrow at the crossing. While the ladies are shopping we will be having a beer or two or three.:yum::yum::yum: They are out of CNX I shall endeavor to ask what his boss will do when they get back up to CNX:rolleyes::D

They crossed over at CC about 2:30 pm this afternoon. Dropped them off at NCA Surin about 5 pm they departed for CNX at 7 PM. About 14 hours latter they will arrive in Chiang Mai. His wife will go to CNXI Monday and report his return and will have his passport with the entry date. This will be accepted and no charge. They have done this many of times.:D

Were you driving Colin?

Probably like this:-

Drunk in FRANCE!

This actually happened to an Englishman, in France, who was totally drunk.

A French policeman stops the Englishman's car and asks if he has been drinking.

With great difficulty, the Englishman admits that he has been drinking all day, that his daughter got married that morning, and that he drank champagne and a few bottles of wine at the reception, and many single malt scotches there-after.

Quite upset, the policeman proceeds to breath test the Englishman and verifies that he is indeed completely hammered.

He asks the Englishman if he knows why, under French law, he is going to be arrested.

The Englishman answers with a bit of humor, "No sir, I do not! But while we're asking questions, do you realize that this is a British car and my wife is driving on the other side?

"New regulations require foreigners report to police each time they leave town"

Well, that's wrong for a start!

a) The regulations are not new.
b) The foreigner is not required to report to police, the accommodator is required to submit the report.
c) It applies every time they arrive in town, not leave town.

Just more fake news..

Sounds a bit alarmist, But. Anybody seen a "Farangs not allowed" sign yet ? Sounds in the realm of possibility, of things to come.

Keep your head down and, if you go away for the weekend, let your wife do the booking and checking into the hotel. Keep your passport in your pocket and do not hand it over to the receptionist. We have never contacted Immigration nor submitted a TM 30 on return. Been doing that for the past 10 years or longer without repercussions. So, if we now get caught, pay the fine. But, with an exchange rate sitting sub 40, we are unlikely to stray too far from home in the future.

That usually works, but there are some hotels who insist on registering EVERY guest, including the kids

Some hotels display a sign that reads "No unregistered guests allowed to stay overnight" :)o_O;);)

They are probably the posh hotels. The ones where I have stayed in the past didn't appear to be that concerned.

Up to now!

I really don't think that's anything to do with the registering of farangs with TM30s. I believe that's to prevent you taking whores into the room [Edit: without paying extra].

[Note: TM30s are only required if a farang is staying in your establishment. An extra little Thai girl does not need to be reported by law].
