electric bill

Currently sitting at the main PEA opposite the Mellon farm. We got a phone call yesterday afternoon to say we could come to collect our deposit for the temporary meter, but we had to arrive before 2pm.

The other day they came to swap the meter and the first we knew about it was when when the electric went off. The guy was going to disappear with the old meter, but I stopped him and demanded to get a photo of the reading.

Today we asked for our 6,000 deposit back. They said we had to pay the bill for the old meter first. They said the bill was 3,320 Baht (we were being charged 7 Baht per unit) I asked to see the bill to check the the meter reading and was told that we have to see another dept and they have just left for lunch....

555! Beat you! 4,273 baht and I only use deodorant once a day.

Maybe the bill was down because I lost the air con in the man cave last week, around the time Yorky reported the 3 power cuts. My usual air con man came to fix the air-con. He and his 3 men spent over an hour examining the unit but declined to fix it. He reported the problem to Haier in Bangkok and they said they would fix it under warranty. Haier said they would order the parts and that we should expect someone in about 3 days. I waited until 3 days went by and then asked my dear wife to give them a call. She did, and they said someone would be around soon. Imagine our surprise when a Samsung Repair Truck turned up at the house a couple of hours later. They had the parts and fixed the air con quite quickly. They explained that Samsung had taken over Haier (I think) and they looked after all the repairs under warranty and the like. Our usual repair man declined to accept any payment and Samsung repaired the unit under warranty free of charge. Excellent service by all service by all concerned!

And now its time for the big grudge match............................ManU v Liverpool. Come on Liverpool!!!!!!
 
So Nomad, 3+ days = roughly 10% of the month, and my bill is very roughly 10% more than yours, so a logical call there from you. If only VAR could introduce a bit of intelligence, you'd be a happier man at half time! That disallowed goal may have involved a (VERY accidental) handball, and should have stood. Equally, the definite foul that led to Manure's goal was at least a more valid interpretation of the rules than the accidental handball. Just my opinions of course!

Sorry Merlin, no longer such thing as “accidental handball” under current rules.

If the hand comes into contract with the ball, at any point whilst scoring, the goal will be disallowed.

VAR was correct - as supported by BBC pundits.

The fan came out today - 33°C on the stoep.
 
We had a little less than the usual..Bt 666 for our house, but we also pay for house next door (belongs to sis-in-law, but vacant) since that's where the power for the pigs runs from. The pigs are about a km down the road and cost Bt 103 this month. They don't use aircon and we don't either.
