Extending 'permission to stay' at Kap Cheong

Yorky, I read what Humbert wrote and replied to his post.

His post (above) makes it sound like you only pay THB 1900 once (period) for visa extension.
Is this website in English ?

Did something change - are you sure about that ?
Then it is I who must be confused.

Last year I paid THB 1900 fee for only the application applying for a 1-year visa based on retirement.
Then I paid an additional THB 3800 for a Multiple-Entry visa stamp based on retirement.

(I understand it would have been an additional THB 1900 above the THB 1900 application fee if only receiving a Single-Entry visa stamp based on retirement.)

Yorkies reply nails it - plus, for the sake of good order, you did not get a VISA you obtained an EXTENSION based on retirement. 1,900 Baht.

Re-entry permits an additional 1,000 Baht (single) or 3,800 Baht (multiple).

Yes, you only pay Bht 1,900.00 once per year for your extension (at the time of application). The other moneys that you paid were for re-entry permit(s) which are optional. You don't need to purchase this/these unless you wish to leave and re-enter the Kingdom without affecting your extension. As far as I know, you are still able to purchase these permits at your point of departure from the Kingdom as you leave (same price but a bit of a hassle).

Thank you both.
I guess if I hadn't left the Kingdom at least three times per year then I wasted some bhat by choosing and purchasing the 1-year Multiple-Entry extension to stay.

Have you been drinking early Coffee?

You purchased (which is NOT mandatory) a multiple entry permit. And yes, if you did not leave and return to the Kingdom more than three times during your one year extension period you have forfeited a few bob. It's not the end of the world though, and as I've said, obtaining re-entry permits at departure points can be a pain in the arse (note for forum admin - learn how to spell "arse").

It was I who was incorrect. My apology.

In hindsight I recall the reason I wanted that Multi-Entry permit was I wanted to be able to depart Thailand to visit family or take a holiday if and when I wanted without any hassles upon departing or returning to LOS.

The military take-over prompted me to cross my T's and dot my I's so that I would be on the right side of doing business with IMM as I've got financial interests parked in banks on the Kingdom's soil.

Thank you all for correctly utilizing the correct words for clarification (ie: permission to stay, extension, permit).

Just for your further information, when you purchase a re-entry permit, whether it be single or multiple it is valid only for the period of your extension which you have at that time. Viz, if you purchase one at the time that your extension is accepted*, then the permit will be valid for one year. If you purchase the permit 6 months into the period of your extension, it will only be valid for 6 months, etc., etc.

* Not positive about this with the new "under consideration" rules in place. Perhaps someone else could clarify?

They will only issue a re entry permit after your under consideration is approved. If you have an emergency and need to leave Thailand you may be able to talk them into it BUT if your not hear for the house call back to square one and if you leave after the interview and do not report by the 30 day under consideration day back to square one. When you get the re entry permit its only valid for the length of our extension

Therefore in most cases the permit will only be valid for 11 months. I wonder if the price for it will be reduced by 8%?

I also invested in a Multiple Re-entry Permit. Standing by for Nick and Ray's next trip to somewhere, apart from two trips to sunny Tasmania.

Would you like me to ask Nomad to draw you a map?

:flushed::flushed:
Jetstar pilots can find it. Not sure about Malaysian Airlines. I don't have to find it - just bask in the excitement when I get there.

I'm still waiting for my house visit. I did my extension on the 10th.

Wombat - what was the expiration date on your last visa ?

Something tells me that is the date they try to work around.

Also - dies KC-IMM have your or wifey's contact cell number to call ?
