Extending 'permission to stay' at Kap Cheong

Thanks Wombat for the post op report. Please clarify one point. You had all the correct paperwork but how many copies do they require? I usually take the original set plus 2 additional copies. One of the copies is handed to Immigration and the second set I keep for myself.

Nomad, I took about 3 copies of each but the young lady at the front desk asked for just one of each, she then collated them in order with the hand written application form on top then told us to go and copy the whole file across the road. Now I could have protested and told her I had copies of everything or just gone outside and compiled my own second file from my copies but it was far easier to just place all the documents in the order that she had them on to a copy machine and copy them. My photo on the application form was copied onto the second lot of papers. My wife was doing most of the talking to the young Thai lady and, as we both know, if a person of authority tells your wife to do it this way, she will, more than likely do it that way.

The twat behind that desk is the one of the biggest nocks of the inefficiency of KCI.

Thanks for the explanation Wombat. Bureaucracy reigns supreme. Chop down another tree. I think I will tell the young lady I have copies already.

I just spoke to SWMBO, sometimes, and she clarified the copying thing. The young lady also stamped every piece of paper with an official stamp then asked me to copy the file. This way saves her from stamping all the copies.

Really she is asking you to do her job. Tell her to do her own copies!!!! LOL.

Cleared up both my visas in a matter of minutes at Jomtien. Again, it was "Take a number!" for the Multi Entry which was the next number to be called. More efficient than the "old days" where we sometimes sat for hours. Nobody is coming to see the condo which is probably good as I will be in Surin from Friday.

After Bill's experience in Jomtein one has to wonder if KCI has declared UDI! Perhaps the tin cans and string have been cut and they are no longer in communication with HQ.

IMO officers (undercover and uniformed) would be intelligent to make it a point of rightfully knowing where their quarry lay...or gathering info (or making contact with informants).
That would be true universally over.

Though I shan't believe that a low-ranked cop on the beat would make it a point of paying more for his daily tipple.

I am really at a loss to explain the difference between Bangkok and Pattaya and the local KCI. When I went to Immi one and approached the form giving counter. They handed me two forms when I asked for an extension based on marriage. At KCI days before I was handed a pack of nine forms and further details of hoops to start jumping through.

Pick a number and stand in line on that one.

KCI is rogue. Most immigration offices require no home visits and make the process simple and hassle free. These wankers in KCI seem to delight in inventing ways to throw their weight around.

Humbert, how is this working out for you ?
Curious - was there an interested party (reporter, editor) on the other end ?

Maybe you can start to see the concept of 'misapplication' of the rules......... no more clues Coffee, you are going to have to identify them as appear in members' posts.

I certainly can't provide a list as there will likely be new examples today/tomorrow............

Either way there is sweet FA we can do about ........ even with the weight of the Bangkok Post behind Humbert!

I think it was explained on here months ago that the rules are not changing "every day". It appears to be only our misconception of them.

I haven't had a home visit yet. No one has called. I have an extension until Dec. 24th. If I am still seething about this nonsense after the ordeal is over I will write to Post Bag.
