When I was doing my last extension, two weeks ago and produced bank statements from my Thai bank outlining my income,
I was asked to show from where overseas my income was comming, a "tracable income stream", from my Australian bank to OFX to my Thai bank.
I don't make the rules, immigration do--all the time.

'Traceable income stream' is a bullsh!t phrase made up by someone ion an immigration office somewhere.

Immigration officers have the right to ask you where your income is derived from - or more specifically, how do you spend your money in Thailand.

1. Paperwork based on an extension based on monthly income will obviously provide that answer.

2. Paperwork based on an extension does not give that answer and, in many cases, people showing fixed balances of 800k have been asked what they live on in Thailand.

I have not been asked for a "traceable income stream" per say and I transfer in excess of 65,000 baht each and every month of the year from the UK. However, I have been asked for proof of my UK income, namely my pension statements from my three pension providers. Broadly speaking these statements support my monthly and total yearly UK income. I say broadly speaking as these statements are in £ sterling and then are converted each month to Thai baht at the exchange rate at the time.

We all know the Imminazi's can and will do what ever they want, " Mine is not to question why, mine is just to do or die ".

That is indeed the evidence I referred to. An IO can see what comes in (and from where) - and that it is being spent.

The information supplied for 'money in the bank' does not show that - and that is why people can be asked for evidence of money being spent in Thailand, and the source. For example people like @Ivor the Engine generate income within Thailand; people like @Yorky do not.

I did once. I was asked to work a few days in Bangkok on my way to a contract in Jakarta. It never crossed my mind until the secretary asked for my work permit so that she could arrange payment. When I told her I didn't have one she said "It's OK then, we'll pay you from Kuala Lumpur."

I am pretty sure that you would have been smart enough not to use that as evidence of income with Immigration... :smirk:

It can't be your phone. Unless you have a weird one that was made in Siberia or somewhere.

It must be the set up of the phone. Have you tried asking one of your students to check it for you? Or if that fails, there must be a five year old close by who could set it up for you.

Only happens on this forum (Typed on PC)

I have just tried, as I have done many times, to transfer funds from my Wise bank account to my Thai Bangkok Bank account.
I entered reason for transfer as Funds for Long Time stay in Thailand, after pressing enter it moved to another screen again asking for the reason for the transfer but this time Funds for Long Time stay in Thailand was not amongst the options.
Has anyone else come across this recently, I transfer monthly and have never had this happen before.
