electric bill

You need to upgrade. Go LED.

I am mainly LED, but saw for the first time yesterday LED replacements for the 32 Watt circular fluorescent lights. Quoted at 24Watt as I recall.

My electric bill -a few days later than most..a pleasant 3,093 baht

I've recently replaced the 60 Watt tungsten lights in the bathrooms with 14 Watt LEDs. It's bloody blinding in there now. I should have gone for 11 Watt or less.

Mine is even later........ I am waiting to see what it costs when we are not there....

Since most of us are familiar with old fashioned filament or incandescent, being the proper name for those old globes. All you do when shopping for a new globe, say you know you want around 60W incandescent brightness just divide by 16 to get the LED wattage equivalent. This is a quick rule of thumb and there is other factors like colour temp to consider but that should serve well.

The LEDs I bought for the cooker hood have 3 different colour temperatures. As you have to turn them off and on to change the colour temperature they are really not suitable for cooker hoods. They were the only ones that the shop had.

Let me be the first to post the bill for July - 5,244.72 baht. New style bill this morning delivered by Cyclops. That's right, Cyclops, the meter man had one of those miner's lights strapped on his forehead and was reading the meters in the dark. Brill.

I hope mine is nothing like that when it arrives early next week. Better have a whiskey in advance...just in case,.
I am up and in the shower before 05.30 every day of the week, Sat & Sun included. I set the temperature to warm and, with water restrictions, the flow has been decreased to mid way (#3). I am in and out in under 5 minutes. My 2 daughters are the next ones in. Flow meter increased to maximum, temperature control increased to maximum too. That's now a serious sauna steam room setting. Time in bathroom at least 15 minutes - no idea how long under the shower. If they were boys they would get their collective arses whipped. As they are young 'ladies' all I can do is nag! No wonder our electric bill is as high as it is.

Our current showering plan during the drought.

Temperature about 10% (although not at 05:30). Charge toothbrush. Clean teeth. Turn water on. Rinse toothbrush and mouth. Slash concurrently. Ensure wet all over. Turn water off. Soap up well. Turn water back on and rinse. Maximum time water is flowing - 2 minutes.

Yahoooo!!! My bill is smaller than Nomad's!! It might be the first time ever! (only by 110 Baht though @ 5134.14)

My next bill should be lower again, as an 18 year old female is departing tomorrow for Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that the overall living costs will rocket as a direct result! We're very proud of her nevertheless.
