I surmise you're paying something into the collective kitty as you didn't purchase the meter (which you don't use but could in an emergency).
At least the meter appears to work properly. ;)

@Coffee The inner workings of PEA remain a mystery to me. However, I am happy to pay ฿40.90 a month and now they are finally giving me proper bills I might set it up on autopay.

If that was mine I would be seriously regularly checking my two external sockets!

We have had builders in for the last 10 weeks and the last month saw a 100% increase in workers to an average of 8 a day. The kettles have had a bit of a hammering, power tools etc. My presence over the last 4 weeks has been a major factor.

The drinks bill is noticeably higher than the electric bill. A box of Chang and most of a box of lao khao is consumed weekly. There is at least one night a week when they will do an extra 30-60 minutes so they are rewarded with a couple of bottles of lao khao. Friday is wages day and they all get a bottle of Chang and share 4 or 5 bottles of lao khao....at least one is taken for the journey home.....

The bill is begining to shrink a little - 5,590 baht. The good news is that both my daughters returned to full-time schooling at the beginning of the week, Monday 17th August. The house is now occupied by only my wife and myself for most of the daylight hours. We are more frugal with the use of air conditioning. I think, and hope, that next month will see a lower electric bill, below 4,500 baht with any luck.

This month's bill is 3761.23 baht including a 99.76 baht discount. (Are your neighbours connected to your meter Nomad? Our bills used to be almost equal to yours.)

Step-daughter has been back at Uni since 6th August so our next bill could be lower again (some subjects are face-to-face, some are online only) Step-son is no longer living on the sofa all day or in his bedroom playing online and turning on the aircon whenever he thinks I don't notice as he's back at school 5 days a week, every week.

Temperatures are down, so we're not using the aircon in our bedroom either - just a fan.
