electric bill

Thosewith meters more than five amperes will get deductions from the number of units in excess of what they used in February.

Those using not more than 800 units per month during the period need not pay for the differences. If a household’s power bills are 300 units in February and 700 units in March, they need not pay for the 400 additional units in March and pay the same amount they did in February.

For households that use 800-3,000 units a month, a 50% deduction applies. A household using 500 units in February and 1,000 units in March will pay for 50% of the additional 500 units, or 250 units. When combined with what they paid in February, they need to pay for 750 units in total.

The measure would be valid for three months, from March to May,

Was it Professor Stanley Unwin who drew that up?

How on earth did you work that out?

What about the households with meters of 5 amperes? That must be the vast majority of the home owners?

"
Free use of electricity will also be extended to cover more households — those using not more than 150 units per month from up to 90 units at present.

Around 10 million households with meters up to five amperes and using not more than 150 units a month need not pay electricity bills during the three-month period."

So there is no discount for households with 5 ampere meters should they use more than 150 units per month? It is apparent that the first 150 units will not be free, e.g. if one uses 150 units in one month the bill will be zero; whereas if one uses 151 units in one month the bill will be 150 x ฿3.2484 and 1 x ฿4.2218 (++-).

Most certainly Yorky. But very unlikely farang households would have a 5 amp meter, unless they had no airconditioners or hot water heaters.

However, to answer your question.............Around 10 million households with meters up to five amperes and using not more than 150 units a month need not pay electricity bills during the three-month period.

Could of been. But I was more the thinking they are using The Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method. o_O
And what have PEA electric bills got to do with cricket? :D:D:D

The Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method is a mathematical formulation designed to calculate the target score for the team batting second in a limited overs cricket match interrupted by weather or other circumstances.

Perhaps one of the Moderators could kindly investigate and advise why when I wrote my response post 1187 to Yorky's question in post 1184, posts 1185 from Bandersnatch and 1186 (a follow up from Yorky) had not been displayed. This late display of posts seems to happen very regularly.

Now you mention it absolutely nothing besides the total arbitrary way these bill discounts are being made, they may as well be using Duckworth-Lewis-Stern system.

Looks like you got the same discount as me, 3%. Although my amount is far smaller than yours.
So what about the 50% discount reported earlier by Nick? The bill for April was adjusted retrospectively so maybe the same will happen with this bill when it is paid by direct debit in early June. We did receive about 1,250 baht off a similar bill.
